What if my MSPIPER becomes ill and cannot perform?

If for any reason your Piper should be unable to fulfill his/her duty because of illness or unexpected circumstance (it happens!), your MSPIPER will assist you in providing a suitable replacement to ensure everything goes without a hitch.

How will my MSPIPER be dressed?

 

Our Pipers are normally dressed in genuine Highland attire, which consists of the Glengarry (hat), kilt, vest, shirt and tie, hose, flashes, sgian dubh (knife), ghillie brogues (shoes), and a sporran. Individual MSPIPERS occasionally vary this, dressing up or down as the occasion dictates.  For example, a peasant (or Jacobite) shirt might be more appropriate for Civil War events, whereas the more formal Prince Charlie style with jacket may be selected for weddings.  A military style shirt, horsehair sporran and spats are often worn for parades. Whatever the occasion, you may be certain that your MSPIPER will arrive suitably attired.  

 

What about Alabama?

Aye…MSPIPERS are located throughout Mississippi, including the Meridian area. MSPIPERS will gladly serve the needs of West Alabama, and/or will assist you in locating an Alabama-based Piper for events that might be too far away to cover (generally outside of a 50-75 mile radius).

The MSPIPERS web page has been designed and created for Mississippi Pipers who wish to take the sound of the Great Highland Bagpipe to the people.  Too often we have heard people lament after a funeral or wedding, “We didn’t know there were any Pipers in Mississippi,” or, “We didn’t know how to find a Piper.” 

We are not a pipe band, although many of us practice, play and fellowship together on a regular basis.  This ensures a certain uniformity of repertoire in the event two or more Pipers listed are hired to play together.  All of the Pipers listed have quality pipes, have had formal instruction and continue to maintain and improve his/her proficiency.   Through this web page we hope to be able to provide steady engagements and support for reliable and well-dressed Pipers.

The Webmaster claims no responsibility for contracts or agreements made between a Client and any listed MSPIPER.  Prices listed are basic, standardized fees agreed upon by all MSPIPERS.  This will enable a prospective Client to know up front what they may expect to pay a Piper for various occasions.  The Client assumes full responsibility for making all arrangements, including initial contact, directly with the Piper.  Final agreement of fees shall be made between the Piper and Client and may be higher depending upon factors such as extended travel, overnight expenses, multiple days (such as wedding rehearsals), etc. Clients are encouraged to request a complete, written statement in advance when contracting for a Piper. A non-refundable security/booking deposit will be requested for weddings, and may be requested for other occasions at the discretion of the Piper.
